Religious Education Programs - The parish community of St. Catharine provides a variety of opportunities for both children and adults to enhance your knowledge, reflect on your faith, and deepen your spiritual life and commitment.

  FOR CHILDREN FOR ADULTS

 
Dates to Remember:

Wednesday, January 16
Confirmation teachers meeting at 7:30pm in the Relgious Ed Office
Monday, January 21 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day – no CCD classes.
Saturday, January 26 First Penance – 11am and 2pm in Church.  Please consult letters regarding your child’s time. 
Saturdays. February 2 and 9 First Communion interviews for children and parents.  Consult your letters regarding your child’s day and time
Tuesday, February 5 Parent meeting for First Communion at 8pm in the Church.  Meeting is for parents only.

Religious Education (K- Teens)

Religious Education enrichment programs for children attending public school from Kindergarten through 8th Grade. Preparation for Penance, Eucharist and Confirmation are included as part of the Religious Education programs.

Programs generally run from September through May.
Check the Weekly Bulletin beginning in June for details.


Liturgy of the Word for Children

A program to help children (targets ages 4 1/2 to 9) understand the message of Jesus. Sessions are held at the 10:30 a.m. Liturgy on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month during ordinary months, every Sunday during Advent and Lent.

No enrollment is necessary for children.
Adults interested in volunteering should contact the parish Office or the Department of Religious Education.


Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School is held in conjunction with The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for one week during the summer.

Check the weekly bulletin for details usually in June or a call the Religious Education Office for details.




Adult Education

There are a variety of adult education experiences sponsored by the parish throughout the year. Popular topics include spirituality, sacramental catechesis, personal growth, community building and social concerns.

G.I.F.T. Growing In Faith and Theology, G.I.F.T., is a program cosponsored by our parish in conjunction with neighboring parishes. Presentation/Workshops are usually offered in the Winter.

FAITH  FORMATION  OPPORTUNITIES

  

The Catholic parishes of Deanery 1 in Bergen County announce their annual G.I.F.T. Adult Education program.  The courses are presented by highly qualified faculty with degrees in theology, psychology, biblical studies and Christian living.
